Assume correct the viewpoint that college sports, especially football and basketball, are a scam through which colleges make vast profits through student athletes who are not paid.
Does this injustice perpetuate because the athletes are typically disadvantaged racial minorities and thus lack political power to change the system? If so, it is slightly surprising because some athletes go on professionally to achieve great wealth, wealth which could be funneled toward legal or political action to help fellow and future athletes, or perhaps to make a case for one's own lost wages during college.
A counterargument is that the student athletes do get compensation in the form of education. There is probably some "income redistribution" among athletes of different skill levels. Perhaps complicated market forces prevent colleges from keeping too much of the profit.
