Infinite inventory: no need for chests, you don't lose anything on death, text search available to find items in inventory.
(Incentives not to die still include not incrementing your death count, not having to go back to spawn point.)
Automatic crafting: simply name what you want and it will be made for you, assuming you have the necessary raw ingredients, even automatically crafting intermediate ingredients.
The general idea is to concentrate on having the player do interesting things, not mundane things like inventory management or executing crafting recipes. Avoid artificial silly restrictions. These ideas are highly subjective.
