[kubottfp] Bitcoin as PKI

Assuming you have somehow established that a Bitcoin public key belongs to a person, can you use that public key to encrypt email to them?  If so, write some tools for encryption and decryption.

Bitcoin may have inadvertently spurred solutions to the very difficult problem of decentralized public key infrastructure. (Or, it may still be an open problem.)

Bitcoin does not seem to have a mechanism to revoke a public key: don't ever pay this previously published address because the private key has been lost or compromised.
