For a given topic, does a curious child naturally ask the critical questions?  Adults often fail, having an unconscious mental block of questions that are taboo, and of assuming incorrectly instead of asking questions.  The famous topic to which this might be relevant is sex and its relationship to society.

If a child naturally asks the right questions, this suggests a different form of education, taking advantage of curiosity: an inverse Socratic method, in which the teacher only answers questions.
