[etbtmuvp] Investigating reports of law enforcement unlocking iPhones

Interview criminals (defendants) who have had their iPhones unlocked and decrypted by law enforcement to discover how difficult of a password Apple is capable of breaking.  Does Apple have a generic backdoor capable of sidestepping any password, or do they merely avoid the lock out after multiple failed password attempts?

The key point is we can learn law enforcement and Apple capability without having to ask them directly.
