[lnplcwsz] Queued nonrhythmic musical interface

Create a musical instrument in which the precise timing of the human player's actions does not affect the sound produced.

Simplest, probably electronic: a matrix of buttons, piano on one axis, note length on the other.  Pressing buttons queues up the note to be played when its time comes around.

Better: instrument is aware of the number of beats in a measure and helps you avoid rhythmic mistakes.

Select from a library of common rhythms and fill in the notes.  (Nowadays, this is done within the musician's muscle memory and years of practice.)

Kind of like Autotune in the time domain.  Or guitar frets for rhythm.

A previous musical interface idea.
