Arguably the most powerful weapon in the Lord of the Rings is not the One Ring, but the Phial of Galadriel given to Frodo. The Phial contains the light of one of the Two Trees, magic of the Ainur as ancient as the creation of the world which can no longer be recreated (thus the wars over the Silmarils). In comparison, the One Ring is very new technology, and anyone as powerful as lesser deity (Maiar) Sauron can recreate it.
