One can actively participate in a chess game instead of merely passively observing.  An organizer sponsors an ongoing blitz tournament among spectators of a live notable (classical time control) game, where the starting position is the position on the board of the notable game.  The starting position changes unpredictably as the game progresses.  Kind of like chess960.
