Trying to compute the descriptive dollar value of a life is difficult to do, though actuaries try. Easier might be to compute the relative value of one life compared to another life (or compared to the "average life"), once again in descriptive (as opposed to normative) terms, examining what decisions are made to reduce of death in one group versus another.
The obvious application is racism, but there are likely other interesting groups whose lives are worth more or less than others.
