One fundamental thing computers can do better than humans is "pay attention": they can do a task, e.g., monitor something else, over and over again 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

But this is a capability most people don't, can't take advantage of: you need a computer that runs 24/7, e.g., a personal server.
