The world still awaits a mobile computer with battery life measured in years instead of hours. I think the technology already exists.
LCD or E-Ink screen. Processor probably running in the low MHz not GHz. Probably a different radio protocol than 802.11 to send and receive at very low power but low bandwidth.
It's a modern reworking of the programmable graphing calculator, but general purpose (with an OS) and with more (solid state) storage.
Vast speed up when connected to external power.
It will work well for reading and writing text, which is what many people mostly do anyways.
