[okscbmwy] Life begins at murder

The setting: A future civilization deals with extreme overpopulation and takes drastic measures:  A human achieves "citizenship" only after murdering another human, philosophically "taking their place" in the population.

Human rights, including the right to be protected from murder, i.e., that the state will prosecute your murderer, are only granted to citizens: this encourages more people to become citizens.

Perhaps greater privileges of society are granted the more murders you commit.

It will, of course, be a bloody, bloody society.

Inspired by the "life begins at X" debate for abortion: none of the proposed Xs consciously have you purposely doing anything momentous to mark the beginning of your life.
