Is the only way an economy can function is with a vast number of people -- most of the population -- unhappy with their jobs? It seems the case now. There two issues:
1. Market failure in wage offered for unpleasantness of the job.
2. "No amount of money can compensate for the unpleasantness of the job": "my life has not turned out the way I hoped."
No matter how much education you get, no matter how hard you prepare to strive for the good job, if everyone does the same preparation, someone has to do the unpleasant job. This seems to be the effect of everyone getting a college degree.
