Create a Rubik's cube with a reward mechanism for solving it (a reward greater than the feeling of satisfaction). One way I'm imagining is an internal RFID mechanism which only becomes electrically active in the solved state, and a powered "base station" which, when the cube is placed on it, detects the solved state via RF, which then, uh, decrypts and plays a congratulatory song or something. Because it is RFID, the cube itself does not need any power.
Many, many variations of puzzles with prizes already exist: I've seen a fully mechanical marble maze gift box where solving it allows the box to be opened, permitting access to whatever the gift-giver placed inside.
