Having abandoned wristwatches, I'm annoyed to have to push a button on my phone to see the time. Create a phone with an additional constant daylight visible clock display, LCD like a digital wristwatch or calculator.
(Right where the Apple logo is.)
Maybe this could be done at home with some superglue, though make sure the clock battery can be replaced.

My old Nokia e71 has a daylight visible clock. Shame it's a bit chunky.
