[dtwroick] Difficult to measure professions

Which are the professions that are the most difficult to objectively measure how well someone is doing their job?  There you will find the worst people, naturally.  (There might be good people, too.)

This complaint has been raised against teachers, though there certainly seem to be ways to objectively measure them.

Is there a commonality of low pay?  Low risk of being fired for objectively doing a poor job.

The problem seems fundamentally unsolvable, though on a case by case basis, one can develop techniques to measure.  How do you know if you are measuring the right thing?

Politicians can be objectively measured on their "job" of getting reelected, but their job is actually to do good for the country, a very difficult to measure task.
