Giant mecha robots lay siege to a modern city. Although it is armed with "small" defense weapons like anti-aircraft rockets and gun turrets, its primary weapon launches cars at a target (catapult or trebuchet?). Ammunition is conveniently provided by people attempting to flee the city by car, so no need to carry it.
