On one hand, vaccinations for diseases which kill in childhood prevent human evolution of natural defenses to those diseases. We might become dependent on those vaccines for our survival.
On the other hand, this evolutionary battle has been going on for a while, from long before the invention of vaccines. We kept losing. That such diseases have persisted, surviving til now, is mysterious. Maybe the diseases evolve faster than the human species?
