[wkmeznvz] Thoughts on the definition of "derivative work"

Most of the human experience (not information theoretic) of the original work cannot be easily recovered from the derivative work.

This unfortunately excludes music videos, annotations to a text.

"Most" causes the problem of whether a original work is just a single object or the sum of many.  (E.g., Wolfram's "A New Kind of Science" tries to forbid sampling even a single diagram.)
