[uakisgpo] George Carlin's "American Dream" monologue

The rich powerful businesses, et al., that are controlling our lives are not knowingly in a club together: in fact many of them hate each other's guts so would never join a club that admitted the other.

They are not coordinating to take action to screw us over.  Each operates independently, perhaps in misguided attempts to do good for the world; nevertheless, collectively the outcome Carlin describes has occurred.  Why?

It's a sociological phenomenon, vaguely entwined in our implementations of democracy and capitalism.
