The practice of check reordering, reordering transactions from largest first to maximize the number of overdraft charges, says a lot about a bank: whether they really care about customer service, or whether they are out to screw over the customer whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Banks these days rely heavily on customer service reputation to distinguish themselves from their competition. Banks which have never implemented reordering should advertise this fact, and criticize by name their competitors who do, implying the practice indicates how a bank feels about, and intends to treat their customers.
