[ugssshnh] Homemade neutrino detector

Could one observe the neutrinos produced by a realistically nearby core collapse supernova with a homemade neutrino detector?

Noise is very high, but signal is also very high.  Maybe a small amount of lead shielding is enough to distinguish.
