It does not seem too difficult for a movie to have several (maybe just 2) different theatrical versions: different theaters show different versions, explicitly labeled so people can vote with their wallets. Or the same theater can show different versions at different times, or even at the same time on different screens.
Inspired by, there are things some people find offensive but others find entertaining. Will the red versus blue political divide be visible in the entertainment people consume? Or do people hypocritically (denounce publicly yet consume privately) or (praise publicly yet not consume privately) entertainment?
Similar things could be done with video and streaming releases.
Price discrimination is possible.
