Nearby Wolf-Rayet stars. LBV Eta Carinae and P Cygni. How imminently likely is a Pleiades supernova? KIC 8462852 (Tabby's Star). Crab pulsar. What are the nearby white dwarfs in close orbit around a giant star, impending type Ia supernovae? Mira. What else?
Sagittarius A*, though that requires a radio telescope.
