[bbbwspuj] Evolution and the problem child

Humans take a long time (compared to other animals) to become adults, during which time, they are dependent on a parent for survival.  Although there is obviously evolved behavior inducing parents to take care of children, what about the other direction?  How has child behavior, and ultimately human behavior, evolved to prevent a frustrated parent from abandoning or murdering the child?  Then, how do those genetically programmed behaviors shape society?

Inspired by the frustrations of modern parenting (which evolution has probably not prepared us for) including news stories of abandonment and murder.

Previously on the evolution of human behavior.
